What We Do

The Central States Dressage & Eventing Association (CSDEA) is a volunteer organization dedicated to growing the sports of dressage and eventing in the upper midwest.  Wherever you are in your riding journey, you will find an array of programs and resources to help you connect with the community and the sport you love.

See our annual CSDEA Highlights pages for a quick look at what CSDEA does in a year:

Ready to get more involved? Our programs were all started and continue thanks to the ideas and energy of members like you! Reach out to a committee chair or the CSDEA president today!

CSDEA Publications

Members receive our annual Omnibus booklet, and 5 issues of our award-winning Cross Country Magazine each year (3 printed and mailed, 2 only on-line), along with digital access to years of past Cross Country issues via the website.  CSDEA also distributes a monthly email newsletter, available to members and non-members.

Calendar

Your one-stop-shop for dressage- and eventing-related activities throughout the region. Clinician and rider discuss lessons learned

Educational Clinics & Schooling Shows

CSDEA offers educational events throughout the year, including mounted and unmounted clinics, schooling shows, and seminars. Members receive discounted participant and auditor pricing. We communicate about these events on our calendar (you can always recognize events we organize: they start with CSDEA), in our annual omnibus, through email, and through our Facebook page.

Junior Developing Rider Program

Since 2001, CSDEA's Junior Developing Rider Program (JDRP) has offered junior and young riders a season-long series of clinics with a nationally-accomplished eventing instructor

Rider Scholarships

Members are eligible for scholarships to help pay for clinic tuition.

CSDEA Dressage Festival and Championships

Held in September of each year, the CSDEA Dressage Festival and Championships is a weekend of competition and camaraderie. Cheer, volunteer, compete, or strut your stuff at the Festival Under the Stars -- however you like to participate, we look forward to seeing you at this spectacular fall event!

Facilities Development Program

We offer grants to support the development and maintenance of area facilities that are used by our members.

Spring & Fall Tack Swaps

Have tack you don't need? Need tack you don't have? At our bi-annual tack swaps, you can snag a deal while giving back: these fundraisers support CSDEA programs and area Pony Clubs. Members mug in the photo booth at the 2015 Ice Breaker

Social Events

Our social events are open to members and non-members alike, and are a wonderful way to mingle with fellow horse enthusiasts. Come casual to our Ice Breaker social event each spring, or go glam at the Annual Awards Banquet and Silent Auction each winter.

Community Outreach

Find us at the Minnesota Horse Expo every spring and the Horse Crazy Holiday Market in December.

National Representation

We send member representatives to the USDF and USEA annual conventions. Our delegates represent CSDEA at these national meetings, and bring back new ideas and best practices from other organizations around the country.
