Board members are solicited, nominated and then voted in by membership. The term of the appointment is 3 years. *** The Secretary and Treasurer are Officers of the Association, but need not be members of the Board of Directors. Officers appear in this online listing for convenience, but may or may not be elected Board Members.

The annual banquet brings the membership together to celebrate year-end awards. Typically it has been done as a dinner and awards presentation. The four outgoing board members for that year assist the organizing committee with preparations.

The purpose of the Communications Committee is to provide a consistent message across all channels that contact our membership.

The Dressage Festival is the one recognized competition that is the sole responsibility of the CSDEA to put on. It is typically held in September at Washington County Fairgrounds.

To advance the knowledge of eventing, dressage and horse care to the region covered by the CSDEA.

A five person Committee, consisting of 1) the President; 2) a Vice-President; and 3-5) three other Directors will constitute the Board of Directors Executive Committee. This committee shall be elected by majority vote of the Board of Directors at or before the December meeting of the Board each year. It is empowered to exercise all of the regular powers of the Board of Directors between Regular and Special Director’s meetings.

The goal of the FDP is to support the development and maintenance of facilities to be used by our membership.

The Fall Tack Sale is held annually in White Bear Lake as a joint venture of CSDEA and Rising Sun & Croixside Pony Clubs, Rolling Hills Estate Pony Club Riding Center. CSDEA's portion of the proceeds benefits the CSDEA Facilities Development Fund.

Goal of program – to provide a well known instructor(s) on an ongoing basis to promote intermediate to advanced level riding instruction to members.

The Membership committee is responsible for: a. Sending out membership forms as requested b. Including membership forms in Omnibus, website & newsletter c. Sending out/distribute renewal forms annually on a timely basis d. Submitting membership fees to Treasurer within 30 days of receipt e. Entering membership into membership database f. Paying out USDF GMO fees semi-annually Per USDF policy - Member rosters and dues, and the name of the official USDF Contact for each club are due into the USDF office by March 1. These items are considered delinquent if not USPS postmarked by April 1.

The Policy Committee has primary responsibility for the accuracy and updating of the policy guide. The Secretary of the Board of Directors is the keeper of the Policies and Procedures document.

This committee assists in preparing promotional materials for events and additionally sets up and staffs booths in order to promote awareness of the CSDEA, and dressage and eventing sports in general. Annual appearances include the spring Minnesota Horse Expo, the largest expo of its kind in the Midwest, and the late fall Horse Crazy Market.

The CSDEA encourages interaction between Central States and national organizations, including the USDF, USEA and USEF. In order to ensure that our CSDEA membership is well represented nationally, the Board of Directors elects two board members each year to represent the CSDEA to the USDF.

The scholarship committee is responsible for promoting and monitoring the awarding of scholarships. The goal is to help members afford to ride with top level instructors. Scholarships are available for up to $150 per member.

The CSDEA Spring Tack Sale has become one of the area's most anticipated events and raises funds primarily to support members who wish to compete in the Eventing Adult Team Challenge.

The goal of the volunteer committee is to promote volunteerism for eventing and dressage shows and programs and to match volunteers to activities that are in need of their support. They also educate volunteers about the various aspects of the sports of dressage and eventing. Volunteers’ skills and experience are matched to the particular need of the activity. Activities include the CSDEA committee activities as well as recognized shows, clinics and schooling shows.

The CSDEA created the Annual Von Bluecher Award to recognize an exceptional volunteer for their commitment and contributions to the association. Max Von Bluecher was one of the founding members of the CSDEA and was an icon of eventing and dressage in the Midwest. This committee is made up of the last 5 winners of the award. The current year's winner is the chair.

The goal of the Year End Awards Committee is to ensure accurate and fair distribution of awards to members at the Annual Banquet.
